Mela is a California native who grew up in Oregon, where she began swim lessons at the age of five at Chehalem Aquatic [&] Fitness Center. By second grade, she was swimming and playing water polo competitively with the Chehalem Swim Team and Newberg High School, a passion she pursued through high school, earning MVP honors and First Team All-American recognition. Her love for water polo also sparked a deep appreciation for travel. Before moving to New York, Mela worked with children on the spectrum, and she now manages several daycares in Brooklyn. She finds immense joy in working with kids and being a part of their growth and development. Outside of work, Mela enjoys reading, exploring new places, listening to music, and indulging her love for food and beach days. She's currently pursuing a degree in Interior Design, blending her creativity with her love for aesthetics and space.
