Leany is originally from Manhattan, but spent every summer since birth going to Ecuador with her grandmother going to beaches and pools. In a country where the water and air is always right around a perfect 80 degrees, swimming was a way of life for as long as she can remember. When she was still a kid herself, Leany started working with kids -- from babysitting neighborhood children to nannying and tutoring different ages, she always focused on ensuring each child in her care had a positive and productive experience. In high school, she began lifeguarding, and soon combined her experiences and skills in childcare and started teaching swim lessons. Upon graduation, Leany will be attending basic training with the Coast Guard in hopes of becoming a Maritime Enforcement Officer.
