Crown Heights Armory

Located in the heart of Crown Heights, the Major Owens Community Center is housed in a turn-of-the-century armory, redeveloped into a world-class recreation center. Imagine is thrilled to be one of the armory's anchor tenants, as operators of a new 6-lane, 25-yard swimming pool. This full-sized lap pool includes a 7'6" deep end, state-of-the-art water treatment systems, and spacious locker room and viewing areas.

The Crown Heights Armory pool hosts swim lessons for all ages; lap swim; swim team practices; synchronized swimming; aqua aerobics; lifeguard training, and much more. In addition to programming provided by Imagine, the pool also welcomes a variety of partners, making the pool available for a wide range of community benefits.

With a water temperature in the mid-80's, this location is suitable for children 18 months and older.

Before & After Class

  • Please park strollers in the stroller parking area below the undersea mural before entering the locker rooms.
  • If you have children of the opposite sex we encourage you to use the Family Changing room. However, children 6 years and under are allowed in opposite sex locker rooms with an adult parent or caregiver.
