Here is Shameka's bio: Shameka began swimming at age seven in the sun-drenched seas of Saint Vincent in the Caribbean, while visiting with her father. That idyllic introduction to open-water swimming blossomed into a lifelong love for the water, which she now brings to the pools of Imagine. Currently a Health Science major at LIU Brooklyn, Shameka discovered her true calling while teaching during her summer breaks. What started as a job became a mission: she is deeply committed to bridging the gap in water safety education within underserved communities. Shameka finds her greatest purpose in transforming students into confident swimmers, blending serious safety skills with the joys of connections and conversation. When she isn't in the pool or studying to become a pediatric optometrist, you’ll find her drawing, crocheting, or catching up on her favorite anime.
