How long are Imagine classes?

Our standard weekly class is 30 minutes of active swim time. We also offer 40-minute classes at the TriBeCa BMCC and on weekdays from 9:00am to 2:00pm, and 60-minute classes at select times.

How much are Imagine classes?

Our 30 & 40-minute group classes are $64/class and 60-minute group classes are $109/class. Semi-private classes are $96/class & children’s privates are $192/class. Off-peak Parent & Me classes (40 minutes, Monday–Friday, 9:00am–2:00pm) are $49/class and Baby Splash is $33/class.
Drop-in lessons are $73/class for 30 & 40-minute group classes and $118/class for 60-minute classes. An annual administrative fee of $59 applies to each swimmer enrolled in weekly lessons.

How does Imagine bill for classes?

Tuition is charged on the first of each month for all lessons planned in that month (ie. on October 1st for all of October’s classes). Any outstanding balance (for additional drop-in lessons, purchases, etc.) is generally charged within 48 hours.

How long am I enrolled for?

Enrollment in weekly lessons is perpetual. To discontinue classes, please provide written notice to info@imagineswimming.com or submit notice via your Parent Portal. As of September 8, 2026, we require 30 days’ notice to discontinue lessons.

Drop-ins are one-time classes that can be scheduled up to five business days in advance.

Question 5

Does Imagine credit for missed lessons?

No. Classes are reserved on an ongoing basis. Once you commit to a weekly class you are charged to reserve your child’s spot each week, regardless of attendance.

Can I schedule a make-up lesson if I miss a class?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can schedule one make-up lesson per month if you're enrolled in weekly classes. To qualify, record your planned absences in the Parent Portal. Make-up lessons must be scheduled within 30 days of the missed class and within 5 days of the intended make-up date. Note that make-ups are subject to availability and cannot be carried over to the next month. Intensive lessons and missed make-up lessons are not eligible for rescheduling.

Do you allow drop-ins?

Imagine always has and will continue to prioritize consistent weekly lessons but we recognize that not everyone can make that commitment.  If your family is keen on dropping in for a single lesson here and there, please reach out to us at info@imagineswimming.com or call 212.253.9650 within five days of an intended lesson. Pending availability, we'll be happy to sign you up!

We do not offer credits for missed drop-in lessons or make-ups for missed drop-in lessons.
 
Families will not receive a credit for a drop-in cancelled within 48 hours of the planned class.

How do I discontinue enrollment?

Once enrolled in a weekly class, please provide written notice to info@imagineswimming.com, or submit notice via your Parent Portal, to discontinue. As of September 8, 2026, we require 30 days’ notice to discontinue lessons.

Question 9

Do you offer any type of medical leave compensation?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In cases of illness or injury that will keep students out of the pool for multiple classes (up to 4), we can offer up to 4 make-up lessons with a doctor's note. That can be emailed to info@imagineswimming.com. Should your child need to be out of the water for more than four weeks, Imagine reserves the right to place your child in a class that is best suited for their current condition.

Are classes held on holidays?

Some pools remain open on holidays, but we offer make-ups for missed classes on certain holidays with advanced notice. Make-ups are available for religious holidays and national holidays like Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Indigenous Peoples Day, and Veterans Day.

How do I know when my pool is closed?

All upcoming closures for your child’s class can be viewed on your Parent Portal, under your child’s class details in the “Lessons” tab. Planned closures for a facility are generally updated at least a month in advance.

Can I put my lessons on hold?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Between Memorial and Labor Day weekends, you can place your classes on hold by alerting us at least two weeks in advance. This reduces the cost of the missed class to $15.
Advanced notice is required to place classes on hold. We do not offer to place classes on hold outside of those summer months.

Question 13

Can I put only some of my classes on hold for the summer?

Yes, you can put any dates on hold, from one day to the entire summer. To place a single date on hold in your portal, make sure the first and last day are the same (e.g., to hold only July 3rd, set both the start and end date to 07.03).

Do I need to be in the water with my child for class?

Accepted Answer

Not if your child is over three years old. If your child is under the age of three years and in a “Parent & Me” class, we require that a parent or other caregiver join him or her in the pool for the lesson.

Question 15

Do you offer Referral Credits?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for any new families that you refer to swim at Imagine who end up enrolling on a perpetual basis, a $64 credit will be applied directly to your account. To learn more, please visit your Parent Portal.

Question 16

How much is the referral credit?

Accepted Answer

You’ll receive one $64.00 referral credit for each new referred family that qualifies.

Question 17

How does a family qualify for me to earn the credit?

The referred family must enroll in weekly lessons.

Do I get a referral credit for drop-in lessons?

Accepted Answer

No. Referral credits are not issued for enrollment in drop-in lessons. The referred family must commit to a weekly ongoing lesson.

Do referral credits apply to intensive enrollments?

Accepted Answer

No. Intensive enrollments are not eligible for referral credits.

Can I receive credits for referrals I made in the past?

Accepted Answer

No. Credits can only be applied for clients referred on or after March 22, 2019.

Can I get a refund for a referral credit?

Accepted Answer

No. Referral credits are non-refundable. They can only be applied toward tuition or gear purchases  on site at any of Imagine Swimming's Flagships locations.

How many referral credits can I get for the same family?

Only one $64.00 referral credit will be issued per new referred family.
