Roone’s earliest memories of swimming take him back to the lakes of the Poconos and along the beaches of Delaware, where his father taught him to swim and, more importantly, instilled in him the confidence and love for the water that he carries with him today. Each lesson he teaches still reminds him of those summers swimming with his dad, making teaching especially meaningful. Roone studied professional and creative writing at Goucher College in Baltimore. Away from the pool, he enjoys martial arts, writing, reading, and cycling. One particularly proud swimming memory: He once won a belly flop competition at his local pool!
