Malachi was born and raised in Brooklyn and has been a swimmer his whole life. His club team was the Brownsville Stingrays, where he specialized as a sprint freestyler, along with the 100 butterfly. Malachi went to Abraham Lincoln High School on Coney Island, went on to earn a degree in Sports Management, and has been teaching for over five years. He has a passion for aviation and aspires to become an airplane pilot.
