Gail O’Brien
Teacher
Gail (they/them) began swimming as a toddler through private lessons in Denver, Colorado, and went on to compete with the Jewish Community Center swim team from middle school through high school. They started lifeguarding at sixteen and later taught with Inclusive Community Wellness, providing free and low-cost swim lessons to underserved communities. Now a Political Science student at Brooklyn College and a former Dramatic Arts major at The New School, Gail combines creativity and compassion in their teaching. Outside of teaching, Gail is a performer and busker at Washington Square Park, known for dancing with fans in fun costumes. They also dance professionally, write poetry, make jewelry, and create music.
