Evan learned to swim at age five at his local YMCA on the westside of Los Angeles. He went on to swim competitively for the Pacific Palisades YMCA, Westside Aquatics, and Crossroads School, where he served as team captain. Evan began teaching during his freshman year at Crossroads, driven by a deep conviction that swimming is an essential, life-saving privilege everyone deserves. Now a Kenyon College graduate with a degree in Music, Evan has now spent over half his life teaching the sport. He loves helping students build self-efficacy and conquer fears on their own unique trajectories. Off the deck, you’ll find Evan playing guitar and writing original music.
