Emily learned to swim at age four on the Sully Station summer swim team, in Fairfax County, Virginia — where she went on to spend 13 straight summers competing! As an undergrad at Virginia Commonwealth University, she continued swimming for three years on VCU's club team, while earning her degree in cinema and creative writing. Emily loves teaching because it brings together two things she loves most: swimming and working with kids. Outside the pool, she enjoys sewing, writing, and baking.
