Lizz learned to swim at her local pool in El Monte, California, on the east side of LA County. Though it took some convincing! A once-fearful beginner, she gradually grew to love the water -- and subsequently spent 10 years swimming for MAX Aquatics, along with her high school team, specializing in backstroke and IM. After helping friends train for a triathlon, Lizz rediscovered her passion for the sport and began guiding others through their own swim journeys. She loves watching students shed their fears and find joy in the water, just as she once did. A UC Berkeley grad now pursuing a Master’s in Neuroscience and Education at Teachers College, Columbia, Lizz spends her time running, rock climbing, baking, and hunting for NYC’s best coffee. Fun fact: she once backpacked the Dolomites with 17 friends.
