Darryl (he/him) was born in Congo, Africa, where French was his first language. His comfort in the water was fostered as he explored the outdoors as a boy in Utah and the Lake Tahoe region. He later joined his high school swim team and quickly fell in love with the sport. With Associate’s degrees in Political Science and Psychology and a BFA in Acting from Carnegie Mellon, Darryl brings a unique perspective to teaching. Inspired by his own journey of self-improvement, he loves watching students overcome challenges and grow in confidence. Outside the pool, Darryl is a huge film enthusiast, and enjoys tennis, hiking, and his work as an actor and musician.
