Sarah spent her childhood living on Lake George, in upstate New York. During the summer, she spent every opportunity swimming and playing in the lake. By age seven Sarah had joined the YMCA swim team, the Glens Falls Gators, where she soon excelled in the 100 and 200 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley, while also embracing the distance freestyle events. Sarah graduated from Queensbury high school, a Class A New York State public high school. While at Queensbury, she joined the varsity swim team and was elected Captain during her senior year. Sarah went on to receive her bachelor's degree from St. John’s University in Queens. During her undergraduate years, she fell in love with scuba diving, became a PADI certified scuba diver, and dove in locales across the globe. Continuing with her PADI education, Sarah is now a certified PADI rescue diver. Currently, she is a graduate student at Hunter College studying Animal Behavior and Conservation. As a part of her graduate thesis research she has participated in open water dives with sharks in Bimini, exploring the relationship underwater sound has on sharks, and also joined in a research program with the Dolphin Communication Project, where she assisted in the collection of underwater audio and visual data of dolphins.
