Born and raised in Ohio, Nate has had a love for the water since he was a toddler. His initial encounter with the water was as early as 12 to 14 months of age. From then, you couldn’t keep him out of the water. An enthusiastic recreational swimmer and competitive swimmer in high school; Nate’s first job was as a lifeguard, but he truly loved offering volunteer swim lessons to local children in between shifts. After moving to New York from Ohio shortly after graduating from Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in linguistics, Nate found himself working closely with children in the water for over 4 years, providing instruction to children ages 2 1/2 to 11 years old at Hampton Country Day Camp in East Hampton, Long Island. Nate discovered Imagine through the wonderful Amanda Greenbaum, and quickly dove headfirst towards the wonderful watery world that was calling out to him. Nate strives to provide a fun and instructive atmosphere for children of all ages, and is dedicated to finding new ways to help others learn and develop a respect and lifelong love of being in the water.
