Jules grew up in Aurora, Ohio, where swimming was a family legacy. Inspired by her mother, a world-ranked swimmer in the Pan Am Games in 1971 winning gold in the 4x100 free relay, Jules began her aquatic journey at the age of four, learning to swim at the Four Seasons Swim Club. After earning a degree in Education from Kent State University, Jules took over her family's swim instruction business The Starting Block, teaching generations of young swimmers. Her passion for the sport has led to myriad aquatic adventures: from competing in triathlons, including two Half Ironman events, to coaching a high school swim team, and perhaps most interestingly -- a sting working as a 'Japanese Pearl Diver' at Sea World Ohio! Jules also enjoys reading, meditating, hiking, and traveling. Fun fact: Jules served as a medic in the Army and is a proud mom of two grown boys.
