Tyler was born in Texas and grew up in New Hampshire. As a kid, he experienced a near drowning on a water-slide at an amusement park. From that awful and formative moment, Tyler determined he would not just survive in the water, but thrive. He spent hours at his local pool, teaching himself - with his eyes on passing the swim test, so he could conquer the coveted diving board! Tyler drew further inspiration from Michael Phelps's exploits at the 2008 Olympics, and went on to become a Varsity swimmer and lifeguard throughout high school. At Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts, he was a member of the Cougar's swim team and continued to work as a lifeguard. After earning a degree in Psychology, Tyler moved to Boston to work with behaviorally-challenged children and also logged hours lifeguarding at Boston University’s Fitness & Recreation Center. He is currently working to obtain his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from CUNY’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
