Like many young swimmers, Jessica's love for swimming was sparked on her neighborhood's summer league team. Growing up in Charlotte, North Carolina, she was quickly immersed in the sport and soon moved from summer league to a year-round club team, joining Stingray Aquatics in 5th grade. By the end of middle school, she fully committed to swimming, leaving all other sports behind, and became a top college recruit in high school. She continued her swimming career at New York University, where she is a rising junior studying Media, Cultures, and Communications with a minor in Business. On the NYU swim team, Jessica is a member of the mid-distance / sprint group, specializing in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyle and the 100 backstroke. The 100 back is her favorite event! As a freshman in High School, she started coaching her neighborhood swim team where she first learned how to swim! Before arriving in NYC, she worked with about 100 kids ages 8-18 every summer, lifeguarded, and gave private swim lessons.
