Genesis was born and raised in the Bronx, where she learned to swim at a local summer day camp when she was eight-years-old. She sparked a love for the water and led her to join the swim team at Theodore Roosevelt High School. Genesis went on to swim at Lehman College. She also swam at SUNY Cobleskill, where she graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts / Hospitality. In her downtime, she enjoys cooking new recipes and painting. One of her goals is to guide children to fall in love with the water the way she did.
