Frederique “Fred” Lefebvre was born in Montreal, Canada and moved to the suburbs of Atlanta, GA at a very young age. In fact, Georgia is where she called home until she moved to Manhattan! Her journey with swimming started like most people’s do—learning water safety through swim lessons at the age of 2. She absolutely fell in LOVE with the water, so when she was old enough her parents signed her up for a local competitive summer league team at the age of 6. From then on she was inseparable from the pool! She started year-round competitive swimming at Swim Atlanta where she practiced and competed at an elite level, specializing in butterfly, IM, and distance freestyle. Eventually, her hard work in the pool paid off and she earned a scholarship to swim at Georgia Tech where she majored in Biology. She competed at the ACC Championship meet all 4 years and was elected team captain her senior season. After graduating, she went on to pursue a Masters Degree in Public Health at the University of Georgia in Health Policy and Management. She secured a great job in the healthcare field, but quickly realized she really missed being around the pool. Therefore, she is extremely excited to get back in the water and join the Imagine Swimming family to share her passion and enthusiasm for swimming with her students! When she’s not at the pool teaching or coaching, Fred enjoys exploring New York City and trying new restaurants.
