Felicia was born and raised in Guyana, South America, where she learned to swim in the natural environment of fresh, sweet water of the South American savannas. By three years old, swimming was a part of her everyday life. At 10, she joined the local swim team and went on to compete at the national level for three years. After immigrating to New York City at age 14 and finishing high school, she joined and was a founding member of the first official swim team at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC). There, she perfected her strokes and lowered her best times every season. Felicia graduated from Hunter College in 2010 with a degree in Urban Studies. Felicia is currently in Graduate school for Early Childhood Education.
