Like many younger siblings, Erica started swimming because her older brother swam. After lessons at the age of three, Erica started competitive swimming at the tender age of four, in a 20-yard YMCA pool in her hometown of Cambridge, Massachusetts. By the time she turned ten, she moved on to swim for a USA Swimming club team called the Charles River Aquatics Dragons. In addition to swimming competitively year-round, Erica's mom brought her to Harvard's technique swim school, swim camps, and swim meets from the ages of 5-12. It was at Harvard where she set a goal to become a college swimmer. She was recruited to swim at New York University, where she majored in Environmental Studies and minored in Business of Entertainment, Media, and Technology and was a three-time NCAA All-American. Having recently graduated, Erica is staying connected with the sport by teaching kids to swim and hopes to show the joy of the water to a new generation of swimmers.
