Raised in the Bronx, Amir and his siblings always had a love of swimming fostered from a young age by their parents. After Amir learned to swim at the local YMCA, his competitive swimming journey was put on hold until his freshman year of high school, when he joined the Kips Bay Makos, where he soon excelled as a breaststroker. Toward the end of his high school years Amir became a state lifeguard and a swim instructor, as a certified water safety instructor. When he’s not in the pool, Amir is studying at LIU Brooklyn, where he is pursuing a degree in pharmacy, or spending time with his family and listening to his favorite music.
