Carlos Gonzaga's journey into the world of swimming began at the YMCA, under the watchful eye of his lifeguard mother. Her lessons in safety and skill laid the foundation for Carlos's love of the water, which he further explored through friendly, unofficial races with friends. With a background in biomedical science, Carlos brings a unique perspective to his teaching, driven by a passion for helping others and setting a positive example for his younger siblings. Known for his electrifying energy and playful spirit, Carlos delights in making his students laugh, whether through water tricks or jokes. Carlos grew up in the Bronx next to the Bronx Zoo and attended DeWitt Clinton High School, the same school as famous Marvel comic creator Stan Lee. Outside the pool, he enjoys rock climbing, martial arts, and cherishes time with family and friends. A future firefighter and EMT, Carlos is committed to a lifetime of service and inspiration.
